Greece is the paradise with different tastes. It suits tourists in the best way especially for those who enjoy beach entertainments, those who value antiquity and classics. Moreover if you are interested where the western civilization was born you should visit this ancient country.

Situated in the south-western Europe, Greece borders on Bulgaria, Albania, Turkey and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The Balkan Peninsula, containing Greece, is surrounded by thousands of smaller islands, less than two hundred of which are settled in. Greece is mostly a mountainous country. Its major territory is situated at 1500 meters above the sea level.
 

Praised history of Greece is reflected in ruins and monuments which are scattered allover the country. Athens has always enjoyed a unique charm. Vivid character of the city attracts thousands of visitors every year. You can see all the sights just walking around.

Walking is the best way to absorb the atmosphere of Athens. Except visiting Acropolis, Parthenon and Dion’s Theater, National Archeological Museum is also worth seeing. It is a treasury of antique things and monuments.

You are also advised to see Poseidon’s Church which is situated an hour drive from the centre of Athens.

 The South Peninsula Peloponnesus is famous for its picturesque views and long history. It is divided into several districts such as Laconia and Mani. Every district has a bright individuality.

Zeus Olympic Temple is a grand one consisted 104 columns but only 15 of them are still remained…. Each one is 17 meters high and they look like a fantastic stone wood. There was a huge statue inside the temple

Building of this temple, one of the most famous ancient monuments began in 447 B. C. on the Callicrat’s and Iktinoi’s project. This Temple was erected for placing a 12 meters Statue of Athens’s Goddess – Parthenos (the Maiden) made by Phidias. In 438 B.C. this Temple was finished and blessed in honor of the Goddess. During centuries it was a church, a mosque, an armory that’s why it was rather ruined.
 

 

Being an embodiment of fame and power of Athens, Parthenon still remains the symbol of the city. Street markets, taverns, parks, ancient monuments, souvenir stands all this what a quarter of Greek call their home. Enter this hospitable house and visit this wonderful world!
